EOY 2015 (Picture Spam!)

It's been one hell of a hectic weekend, with barely any time for rest after the final submission on Thursday - I had to use Friday to prep for EOY 2015, and well it was so intimidating because I hadn't cosplayed in so long and was obviously nervous. On top of that, I'd only ever gone as Misa from the Death Note series, so could it really be counted as cosplaying?

Either way, I was set on going for EOY with or without proper preparation - I just wanted to get back into the feel of things again because it had been so long since I attended a cosfest, and quite frankly speaking I'd missed it. I missed being able to go for these things and geek out over stuff with others who'd very happily geek along too because it was something we all had in common while at the event.

Picture highlights of day one:

It's Cardcaptor Sakura and Misa!
Decided to forgo the wig this time because I finally realised how fucked the fringe was and seriously, I was tired of bringing visible eyebrows shame to Misa.

I swear I'm going to have two bald spots on my head exactly where I had to tie my ponytails - how on earth did Misa do it?
The style's really starting to grow on me, though...
God help us all.

Ran into GZ and Shaun while at the event, and it was so much fun hanging with them - hope you guys had as much fun as we did!

I really like this picture for some reason.

I'm really sorry for the lousy quality omg but Sakura was so happy to find her Hikaru no Go cosplayers.

I really, really love this picture.
Photo creds to yours truly ehehe.

PROFILE PICTURE FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS AHAHA.

There's that moment when your photographer (read: Kira) tells you to go KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA just so she can get a proper picture of you smiling...
And another moment when you actually do it.

Cardcaptor Sakura never loses its charm.

And day two:

Kira came in as Mirajane from the Fairy Tail series!
Her dress is so flouncy oh wow.

Enjoying a cold drink between Mirajane and Misa - it was so damned hot today oh god.

Got a picture of the Assassination Classroom cosplayers - MY ENTIRE LIFE IS MADE.

I also managed to get a picture of Nicolas and Worick from the GANGSTA. series - MY ENTIRE LIFE IS MADE.

Even the damned deserve the chance to pray.

Had our own mini-photoshoot away from the crowd - I loved the idea behind this but we'll have to improve on certain things the next time we do something like this.
My hair, for starters ><"

Mirajane had her own mini-photoshoot as well!

It was really fun getting back into the swing of things - cosplaying's as tough and tiring as I remember, but holy hell is it worthwhile. Kira and I had to stop cosplaying after last year's AFA event (which I now realise I forgot to blog about oh god) due to really hectic schedules and work and school, and it feels so good to pack and prep and do makeup and clothes for our characters again.

The next time we cosplay will probably be during AFA 2015, which will be at the end of the year - so we're really pumped for that! The thing about cosplay is that it's not easy at all, and it's when you're struggling with your clothes and wig and makeup that you come to the sad conclusion that you will never look like the character you're trying to cosplay and that's when you start wondering why you're even going on with it.

But it's such fun, oh gosh.

I mean, when you walk for hours and hours hoping that someone, anyone, will take a photo of or with you, and your feet are hurting and your makeup's smudging and melting and your clothes are sticking to your body (because whichever genius came up with the idea to have EOY obviously didn't take into account that most of its participants would be in heavy makeup and wigs and clothes very obviously not suited to the horror that is the local weather - I've been saying this every year and I'm saying it now PLEASE HOLD COSFESTS INDOORS WITH AIRCONDITIONING WE WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER)...

You realise that you're actually having fun, and the pictures that you take (either by other photographers, who'll clamour around you if you're cosplaying as a popular character, or by your friends when you try to hold your own photoshoots because god dammit you did not dress up for nothing) are truly priceless...

Until you notice how many likes they garner on social media.
