FAM 2016

Image
Kira and I popped by the Funan Anime Matsuri (FAM) that was going on through all of last week - we went on Thursday because that was the only day off that I had from classes, and we really wanted to check out the stalls and displays as well as try out our finished cosplays. I'm not sure if anyone remembers a slightly old post of mine when I said that I was working on a personal project, and that I'd reveal all the details in time - tadaa, this is it! I spent the whole trimester break working on the costume and props for this cosplay, and I have to say that I really put all of my effort into it. Yes, I was working on the cosplay for San from Mononoke Hime - anyone who knows me well knows that I'm absolutely obsessed with this movie, having watched it at a young age. As a child I wanted so badly to be able to be as strong and fierce as San was, and this is a sentiment that still rings true even as a young adult. The cosplay wasn't very easy - I had trouble wi...

EOY 2015 (Picture Spam!)

Image
It's been one hell of a hectic weekend, with barely any time for rest after the final submission on Thursday - I had to use Friday to prep for EOY 2015, and well it was so intimidating because I hadn't cosplayed in so long and was obviously nervous. On top of that, I'd only ever gone as Misa from the Death Note series, so could it really be counted as cosplaying? Either way, I was set on going for EOY with or without proper preparation - I just wanted to get back into the feel of things again because it had been so long since I attended a cosfest, and quite frankly speaking I'd missed it. I missed being able to go for these things and geek out over stuff with others who'd very happily geek along too because it was something we all had in common while at the event. Picture highlights of day one: It's Cardcaptor Sakura and Misa! Decided to forgo the wig this time because I finally realised how fucked the fringe was and seriously, I was tired of bringin...

Terrible Reviews: 2014 Summer Anime Run

Image
So the summer anime run has finally ended... And the anime side of Tumblr finds itself sharing blankets and mugs of hot chocolate and hugs as we pick up what's left of our souls hearts and cry or stare blankly into space. All in all considered quite normal, considering what we've been through. Each series was considered short (the shortest in this list had 11 episodes while the longest had 25 episodes) but all were equally crippling - excuse me while I pick up my box of tissues and shuffle to a corner to cry again. 1. Haikyuu! As far as my very limited experience for sports anime goes, Haikyuu! follows the standard formula for most sports anime ( "This year we'll finally go to Nationals, I can feel it!" ) and still manages to keep things fresh. I have no idea why Hinata and Kageyama reminded me of Naruto and Sasuke though  maybe it was because of Hinata's nonstop energy and Kageyama's too-cool attitude hehe . The anime seems to follow the manga ...

Terrible Reviews: Again, this turned out longer than I expected it to be

Image
So I finally quit working for my aunt and resumed my societal status as jobless soon-to-be-university-student effective last Friday. I still feel kind of guilty about leaving just when the office was getting busier with closing and all, but when even your colleague tells you that you should run, don't worry she'll be okay... You run.  The school's Orientation Day (though can you really call it a Day if it's only two hours?) is on the 25th, and classes start the next day. I'm nervous as hell, but here's hoping that things turn out alright - I've learned my lesson from TP. I still have a week or two before classes start, so I've been trying to catch up on the anime series that I've been missing out on - it's been torture seeing all the photo and gifsets on Tumblr and somewhat getting the gist of the series while being unable to catch them because I needed to sleep, ugh. Click here to read the previous listing (and short description) o...

Terrible Reviews: This started out as a normal list but became a full-blown post without me realising it

SERIES: Deathnote My first manga/anime. Ah, the memories~  I remember fangirling over Light so hard and then switching to L because holy shit, who doesn't love a brilliant, weird master detective? His obsession with sweets was so cute too. Vampire Knight I wanted Zero from the start, ahaha. Unfortunately I gave up on the manga (the anime has ended) because it was dragging on far too much and I was getting bored... Also I remember wondering why their skin seemed to tear so easily in the manga/anime - I tried it out with a razorblade and trust me, skin is a LOT tougher than it appears in VK =.=" Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles SYAORAN-KUN~~ Yeap, he was all that I really cared about - him and the amazing OST composed by Yuki Kajiura. This was the anime that got me into OSTs because I was completely entranced by Kajiura-san's pieces. Still love them, in fact. Anime-wise, it was pretty meh because now that I look back on it, only the OST k...
