What Colour?

For those who don't know, I'm on Kiwi! That's a website that's similar to ask.fm except for the fact that it's not as popular - I like it, though! Anyway come say hi if you like :)

Someone recently posed a question, asking what colour love was. I couldn't answer it because of some kind of server issue, but I thought I'd post my answer up here.

What colour's love?

It's red - that's for passionate, fiery love.
It's green - that's for when jealousy sticks its ugly little head into the door.
It's blue - for the unrequited, for the meaning behind "la doleur exquise".
It's yellow - for the innocence, for the days of blissfully happy, dizzyingly ignorant affection when you only see each other and nothing else.
It's orange - for how stupidly brave you get around each other, so willing to try anything the other person wants to.
It's purple - for the acceptance, the tolerance, the patience.

So what colour is it? I doubt any of us really knows, in all truth - we just guess and assume and it's true, it's all true for all of us because that's what love is.
Love is like water - it takes on the shape of whatever container it's put into, and takes on the colour of whatever light you shine on it.

So perhaps that's my answer - love is whatever colour you make it out to be. If you think love is red or blue or green or yellow, or all the colours or none at all, you're absolutely right.

What colour do you think love is? I'm curious to know - leave your opinion in the comments! ^^

  1. Love is white. For love is the end product of all other colours, all other emotions rolled together. It encompassses so many things, and is never the same thing at two different times. And white is pure. The purity of those emotions, the intensity of them...that defines love, ultimately. Whether you feel sad, happy, angry or jealous in love, heck even contentment...that feeling is pure and intense. If it's not head-dizzyingly intense, if you don't feel the distilled purity of that emotion...I don't think what you've got is love. But more likely, that's just me.
