Ode To Fangirling (and Linkin Park)

I am a huge fan of Linkin Park. HUGE. I may not know the band's complete history because it goes all the way back to when the members were in high school, and I may not have all the merchandise simply because I don't have the money (I'm still saving up to be able to go back to Hokkaido when I turn 26). However, nothing and no one will ever take away my undying loyalty to the band, and nothing and no one will ever be able to question my faith and love for the band and its members.

Okay, I'm not going to raid Wikipedia and give you the complete history of when the members met (officially formed in 1996), all the members' names (Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Dave 'Phoenix' Farrell, Joe Hahn) and what they do (Chester - Vocals, Mike - Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Keyboard and Production, Brad - Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals, Rob - Drums, Dave - Bass Guitar and Backing Vocals, Joe - Turntables, Keyboard, Samples and Backing Vocals).

Okay, maybe I lied. Heh.

Anyway. I admit my relationship with LP and their music had a rocky start - I started listening to them in Secondary Three only because 'Edward' liked them, and I'd wanted to try listening to what he liked listening to. Stalker much, right? Back to subject. I literally fell in love with them when I heard "Numb" (though I started having second thoughts when I heard "Qwerty" for the first time) and I really haven't looked back since. I've tried all their albums, I think, from 'Hybrid Theory' to 'Meteora' to 'Minutes To Midnight' and 'A Thousand Suns'. And I'm eagerly awaiting their fifth album, which, according to rumours, should be released soon. Did you know that the band has actually said that they aim to release a new album every 18 months? That's incredible! I have never been in this much awe of a band and its dedication to both its music and its fans.

Well, to wrap up, all I wanna say is that I truly love Linkin Park. Nothing will ever change that. And even though I know for sure that there is no way the band members could possibly be reading my blog, I just wanna say a huge thank you to them for always being there for their fans, and that their music has always been my inspiration, having helped me through many dark moments. They've probably heard all this before from a gazillion different fans, but really, the words are all sincere. And I know the band is performing for Singapore tonight, and I can't go because I really don't have the money, but hey, hopefully there'll be other chances for me to be able to catch them live in concert.

And if I may make an early Christmas wish, I'd really like to get an LP shirt in women's cutting. It seems impossible to find one in Singapore, or should I say Bugis Street. Just one shirt, and I will be so happy words will be unable to describe my state of utter and complete joy. :)

I mean, I can dream, can't I? XD
