Best Actress AY2012/13

So last night was the Dramatec Oscars. We all dressed up (with the exception of Ong father and son - they were mostly definitely the nominees for the Most Underdressed award, haha!!) and came to have a good time with food and music and friends.

Pizza was ordered in (I think I saw 5 or 6 boxes - yep that's how a group of hungry teenage thespians can eat!) and there were drinks. There was also a photobooth for everyone to take pictures and goof off - we had a TWCT staff photo and even a Team Eulogy picture taken (sans Suzette, who left the drama club pretty soon after Performing Words). Hopefully these pictures will be uploaded to Facebook soon so I can share them on this blog :)

We also had Don't Forget The Lyrics, although that soon became a game where EVERYONE participated in - literally everyone was singing anyway so it didn't really matter as long as everyone had fun.

And after the games was the bit that everyone was waiting for: The awards.

Everyone got an award that was unique to them, which was really cool. That way, everyone would feel appreciated for something :)) We had so many awesome awards, like Most Scandalous, Best Auntie, Best Mother, and of course the usual Best Actor and Best Actress. And these awards were just to name a few!

I won the Best Actress award, which really shocked and touched me. I mean, all the while I've just been the quiet awkward Chinese girl who's always sitting in the corner or just quietly, awkwardly observing people from the sidelines. I'm not half as wild or outrageous as the other seniors; in fact I don't even act like a senior. I never thought I'd be noticed by anyone else, or even thought worthy of such an award. I mean... Best Actress. Wow. So... Thank you, everyone who actually thought I was half-worthy of this award. You have no idea how much it means to me, to be noticed and presented something this amazing. I was so overwhelmed that I didn't even believe that it was for me and even after that, I was still staring at the award, half-convinced that they'd gotten the wrong person and that it was meant for someone else entirely.

I think I'm still slightly in shock, even now.
I know I worked hard, but even now I can name quite a few people who I think are more deserving than I am of this award! But for the drama club to think that I deserved this...

Red.

I always dye my hair red - I started dyeing it two years ago after I completed my internship because I felt that it was time, I was ready, and I haven't dyed it a different colour ever since. Of course, constant dye jobs do nothing for the hair, which is why I allowed mum to nag me into doing a henna job on my hair instead of the usual bright red I ask of the hairstylist. The result is that my hair now looks orangey instead of red, which is what I expected but nevertheless found myself incredibly disappointed with. (The irony is that I never have such complaints about my hair colour whenever my red fades to orange within the first two weeks of the fresh dye.) Tsuki-kun told me that he felt the orange suited me better since the red was too bright, but I can't quite bring myself to agree with him. Break The Mirror. Please.

I don't want to look at myself in the mirror anymore. I don't want to see my reflection, I don't want to see that ugly girl staring back at me. Those pleading eyes. She wants me to do something, anything, just so she doesn't look so ugly. She's fat and ugly. Hideous, both inside and outside. All she wants is to stop thinking. Because every time she does, the knife inches ever closer to her heart. She will never be as perfect as her . She just wants to stop looking. Shut up. Just shut up. Stop comparing. I know I'm ugly. Stop thinking. Leave me alone! She wants to stop seeing all the fat bits, all the wobbly jiggly bits that she aches to just cut off. Just grab a knife and slice them all off and she won't be so FAT . She won't be so UGLY . She just wants to kill herself. Please?
