NDP (Preview!) Pictures and Musings

Okay, so this is about 2 weeks late, but I realised I hadn't posted the pics Tish and I took when we went to the NDP Preview on Saturday.
I'm late for posting for the preview, but early for the actual show. Go figure.

Goofing off as usual. This is what happens when you put two girls and acameraphone together - hardly professional quality, but good fun all the same.

Pre-show dinner at some salad cafe!
Rabbit food mmpf.

Walking to our seats and DAMN there were loads of people. Really "people mountain people sea" (人山人海) as we Chinese like to put it.

Like I said.
People mountain people sea.

And so the parade begins! Waving to the stand-in leaders of our country (they were holding signs to tell the audience that they weren't the real leaders bahaha) and watching the parade proceedings.

The tale of Sisters' Island. God, this brought back memories (I acted as the younger sister in primary school - that was what kickstarted the whole oh-my-god-I-love-acting thing).

The tale of bukit merah, or redhill as we also know it. Awesomely bloody tale of betrayal and murder, and a very good choice of a story to tell a nation while celebrating the country's birthday.

And the tale everyone knows from young - the tale of Sang Nila Utama.

The CBD is gorgeous during the dusk-night transition.

More lights!

Managed to get a quick pic of huge sports balls tumbling over the audience before one bonked me over the head.

Because the lights weren't enough... Pyrotechnics!

The finale of the parade ended on a high note, as always.
Yes, even with this year's shitty theme song.
What made me extremely happy was how they played the old songs for a while.

And what's an NDP without the customary fireworks? Loud noises, flashing lights and watching the CBD slowly get consumed by the smoke ehehe.

Waiting for the crowd to disperse.

Sweaty and tired after cheering so much.
But still able to camwhore mehehe ;)))

Oh my GOD that looks like someone who used to make school hell for me...

But DAMN she got ugly. Karma's a bitch innit?

Unlike the girl beside me, I cannot make sweaty and tired look good no matter how I try.

I can, however, do an awesome "I'll kill you in your sleep tonight" face.
And yay for school pride!

Dinner at MBS after - we bought takeaways from CBTL and did something like a "camp under the stars" thing.
All guys out there, listen up.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO BRING A GIRL ON A DATE.

This place outside MBS. It's perfect to bring a girl at night, and just lie down and gaze at the night skies.

See? Perfect lesbian date AHAHAHA.

Seriously though, the view is stunning. Or at least as stunning as it gets in Singapore :)

So we had fun, and talked a lot, laughed a lot, and talked a lot more. Good fun! :)
