Terrible Reviews: This started out as a normal list but became a full-blown post without me realising it
SERIES:
Deathnote
My first manga/anime.
Ah, the memories~ I remember fangirling over Light so hard and then switching to L because holy shit, who doesn't love a brilliant, weird master detective?
His obsession with sweets was so cute too.
Vampire Knight
I wanted Zero from the start, ahaha.
Unfortunately I gave up on the manga (the anime has ended) because it was dragging on far too much and I was getting bored...
Also I remember wondering why their skin seemed to tear so easily in the manga/anime - I tried it out with a razorblade and trust me, skin is a LOT tougher than it appears in VK =.="
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
SYAORAN-KUN~~
Yeap, he was all that I really cared about - him and the amazing OST composed by Yuki Kajiura.
This was the anime that got me into OSTs because I was completely entranced by Kajiura-san's pieces.
Still love them, in fact.
Anime-wise, it was pretty meh because now that I look back on it, only the OST kept me going through what would otherwise have been a pretty bland series.
Plus, the series didn't end well - it was like the animators at CLAMP got bored of the series and just left everything hanging. Shame on them.
Yuuko was fucking badass in this series. Of course, this was a sort-of-not-quite tie-in with TRC (see above) because they operated along the same timing, just in different dimensions. Sounds easy enough to understand, but wait till you start on the anime/manga - you'll be making connections between the two series left right and centre.
I don't remember much about the OST, surprisingly enough, but the series was good all in all - I lived for the supernatural stuff, and this was a series all about them. Fuckin' A.
(Also I just read that there was a live-action TV series about this - excuse me while I go check it out)

Pandora Hearts
Another anime series that left me hanging - I remember feeling pretty dissatisfied after watching the last episode because it felt like too much was left unexplained. Very complex plot, but interesting enough that you keep watching until the end. The OST was amazing too, also composed by the great Yuki Kajiura (sighs in happiness).
Tennisu no Oujisama
Don't even get me started on these precious shits because ughhhhh.
A rather old anime series, but this is something I consider a classic because it's so old (it first started in 1999, holy fucking shit) and it still has such a huge influence on fans everywhere.
If you look at the big picture, it's a rather (if not very) predictable plot, but it's still enjoyable.
They got me VERY interested in tennis, and of course I was disappointed when I watched an actual tennis match and all I heard was gay porn.
There are So. Many. Characters. introduced in the series, but the thing is that even if you don't know all their names (I can't remember most of them, sigh) you know who they are and what school they're from and their special abilities and basically everything but their name.
This anime was also what got me into the whole shipping game, especially with such a huge cast and endless shipping opportunities.
Plus their musicals and concerts after the original series ended provided so many chances to fangirl (and cry because there was no way they'd be coming to Singapore).
Shin Tennisu no Oujisama (on hiatus)
The sequel to Tennisu no Oujisama, it came out at an amazing time because I'd only JUST finished watching Tennisu no Oujisama and poof new anime series to scream over.
The plot is great, though personally I have to say I'm not too happy over the difference in design because seeing how different the characters have been drawn is quite a big shock from watching the original series.

Unfortunately I haven't been keeping myself up to date because none of the anime streaming websites I frequent have the subbed versions of the latest OVAs, which is also why I've only watched the series up to OVA 2 or 3 when I hear the new OVAs have reached like 6 or 7.
Sigh.
I'll be patient - I can watch them after everything is done.
Angel Beats!
Pretty good series, they got me interested in the songs used in their OST because it was sung by a group created in the series (which turned out to be a REAL group, or so I hear).
They're called Girls Dead Monster, or GDM for short. Go check them out.
The ending was sad, but not as heart-wrenching as many fans seem to claim - I felt their pain, but I didn't exactly cry over it as they did.
Still a good series to try if you don't really want to spend too much time watching anime - it's pretty short, and it's fast-paced too!
Sword Art Online
Ugh. This anime. Just. Ugh.
The story and setting was amazing at first, I admit it was what got me watching it in the first place.
I mean, the whole getting-trapped-in-an-online-MMORPG-game thing sounds wicked.
What I hated was how everything was about Kirito - he's the main character, if you haven't guessed.
Sure, he's pretty cute, but the entire series from beginning to end is Kirito this and Kirito that and Kirito Kirito Kirito so amazing wow.
Fantastic animation, shame it had to be ruined by a lousy plot.
But I have to admit that it got me curious about playing an MMO, although it also got me disappointed because hacking away at your keyboard just isn't the same as killing an enemy with your own two hands.
All I can do is hope that we'll have that kind of advanced technology in the future.
Though if we do get stuck in the game... Well, that could be fun.
Shiki
LOVE. THIS. ANIME.
Vampires and blood and gore and chaos, what more could you ask for?
It's a short series too (about 20 episodes) and you get so immersed in the plot because ugh, it's so good I can't even.
Nothing more I can say - 100/100 recommend.
Log Horizon (ongoing)
Now this is what SAO (see above) should have been.
It's the same setting as SAO - players stuck in an online game, what do we do - but this places less focus on Shiroe (the main character) and more focus on the other players of the game because it's not all about the solo player.
Log Horizon doesn't seem as appealing as SAO when you place them side by side, but trust me - this is one anime that really grows on you.
Kill La Kill (ongoing)
Recommended to me by a friend, this anime has me screaming WHY THE FUCK AM I STILL WATCHING THIS every episode, although for reason unknown I keep watching it.
Loads of fighting, loads of nudity (unfortunately that's one of the biggest reasons why I continue to wonder why and how I somehow continue to watch this) and an interesting but what-the-fuck-is-going-on plot that leaves you alternating between seriously considering throwing your laptop out the window and seriously considering throwing your laptop at the wall.
Shingeki no Kyojin (ONGOING)
Do not get me started on this. I started out not knowing why everyone was losing their minds over a bunch of soldiers in weird gear and ended up on the frontlines screaming over these soldiers along with all the other fangirls.
I know some people say that this series is crap and overrated and there are several gaping plot holes, but quite personally I have nothing against this series because it's so fucking UGHHHHHHHHHHHH and my mum only knows this as the anime that makes me cry a lot and yell at my laptop.
What I learned from this anime?
- Everyone fucking dies (though that's also the beauty of the series, that no one is ever truly safe from Hajime Isayama).
- TITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS.
- Levi is fucking badass and anyone who disagrees is wrong.
- Also Levi is mine.
Apparently Hajime Isayama was supposed to kill more characters including the main ones, or so I hear, but then I also hear he changed the ending to avoid more character deaths. This is something the SNK fandom is pretty split over - I mean, we don't want him to have to compromise just for the fans because then SNK has pretty much lost most of its meaning, which was that no character is ever truly safe. Then again, we don't want to cry over more characters because it's really painful - I swear if any more of the main characters die I'm going to cry my heart out, and if Levi dies I might just die too sigh.
Actually, I can't fit everything about this anime into a small paragraph. Just watch the series and let me know and we can laugh and cry over these little shits.
Free! Iwatobi Swim Club (SEASON 2 COMING OUT)
I started watching this because I was bored and before I knew it, I'd finished the whole of season 1. It's a simple enough plot, though I'm not sure how they managed to drag everything out over 12 episodes (it works though!).
What you basically learn from this series is that water and mackerel are essential for life (thanks a lot Haru).
Can't call myself a huge fan of the series, though I can't wait for season 2 to come out.
MOVIES:
Hotarubi no Mori e
I watched this because of the amount of Tumblr posts about it on my dashboard.
Quite a nice movie, bit sad too but all in all pretty enjoyable.
Nerawareta Gakuen
The movie is slightly less than 2 hours long, and slightly less than 2 hours later I still have no idea what's going on.
It's a very pretty movie, but that's about all I can tell you about it.
Squeeeeeeee omgggggg fangirl mode overload. Hotarubi no Mori e is damn good but so damn sad...Cannot get over the sad ending. Nice list to check out more animes ;D
