Third day in Bangkok - got off to a bad start, unfortunately. I won't go into details, but seriously if you exclude people while on a vacation then what's the point? If that's the case then perhaps it's better to split up and meet back in the hotel at the end of the day.

In any case, I fully intend to enjoy what I can for the rest of this trip.

On the way back from Chinatown - it's a must-visit every single time we're in Bangkok! The place is so vibrant and bustling and noisy, and it's a wholesale market so the shopping there is pretty good especially if you're looking for trinkets and toys.

I also love how the place is influenced by Chinese culture - it's Chinatown after all!

Everyone loves taking a picture of the shop signboards that adorn the buildings.

Spotted this inside a hotel - it's so beautiful but also very creepy, especially if you think about having to walk along this corridor at night with her staring at you...

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, it's a no-brainer that we definitely needed to get red packets.
They have monkey designs on them because it's the Year of the Monkey in 2016!

Saw this little guy hanging out on a wall - I've never seen this colouring before!


Again with the food.
These raw crabs and seafood are mixed and pounded into a salad that locals love.

Didn't realise my camera was unfocused, which is a shame - my late grandmother used this powder back in the day, and seeing this made me really nostalgic.

A beautiful cheongsam that was being sold for 26 dollars - I was so tempted to buy it but honestly I didn't have an occasion to wear it, and it would have been a waste to leave it gathering dust in my closet.
I'm still a little disappointed in not buying it, though - it was so beautiful - but seriously I doubt I could have done the dress justice.

Back in the hotel - went to shop at MBK shopping centre and happened across a Muay Thai competition. I've never been a fan of these sports, but the atmosphere at the competition was so intense I found myself as excited as everyone else there.

Red.

I always dye my hair red - I started dyeing it two years ago after I completed my internship because I felt that it was time, I was ready, and I haven't dyed it a different colour ever since. Of course, constant dye jobs do nothing for the hair, which is why I allowed mum to nag me into doing a henna job on my hair instead of the usual bright red I ask of the hairstylist. The result is that my hair now looks orangey instead of red, which is what I expected but nevertheless found myself incredibly disappointed with. (The irony is that I never have such complaints about my hair colour whenever my red fades to orange within the first two weeks of the fresh dye.) I don't want to look at myself in the mirror anymore. I don't want to see my reflection, I don't want to see that ugly girl staring back at me. Those pleading eyes. She wants me to do something, anything, just so she doesn't look so ugly. She's fat and ugly. Hideous, both inside and outside. All she wants is to stop thinking. Because every time she does, the knife inches ever closer to her heart. She will never be as perfect as her . She just wants to stop looking. Shut up. Just shut up. Stop comparing. I know I'm ugly. Stop thinking. Leave me alone! She wants to stop seeing all the fat bits, all the wobbly jiggly bits that she aches to just cut off. Just grab a knife and slice them all off and she won't be so FAT .
