020516 - Season 3 x First Day
#100happydays: Day 12
I wasn't disappointed - the cinematography was as beautiful as I remembered, and the characters we saw in the previous seasons were there too - it felt like greeting old friends all over again. I won't give spoilers, but I can say that the first episode has more than whet my appetite for the rest of the series and I'll be looking forward to keeping up with this one.
As is always the case with new seasons, new characters were introduced. Again, I'm not giving any spoilers, but I have to comment on this one - the man you see below is Dr Jekyll (ding ding, sound familiar?) and he's super cute.I officially have one extra reason to keep up with the series, not like I needed one to begin with.
101 Things I Think About: Day 12
Yep, you guessed it - it's the first day of the new trimester tomorrow. I can't really say I'm looking forward to it, but it's an inevitability and we've all got to face it anyway.
The pros? I get to see Circle, I get to see Panda, I get to do stuffand be a productive member of society again.
The cons? Oh, nothing much - just the sheer amount of work that awaits us. We've all seen the timetable for this trimester, and with the modules (and lecturers) we're about to face it honestly feels like we're staring down the UON BCOMNS equivalent of the Elite Four.
Anyone who knows me well knows that I'm a huge fan of anime series, and will follow any ongoing series I like religiously.
Unfortunately, I could never say the same for live-action television series - Tish regularly bemoans the fact that I don't watch any of the shows she does and won't get most references that she talks about - until I stumbled across Penny Dreadful.
My interest in the show was aroused when I first saw a picture set from (where else) Tumblr, and I knew I had to find out more about the show. I wasn't disappointed at all - the show was dark, twisted and beautiful in all the right amounts for me, and I was especially tickled to find that they included some very familiar names such as Victor Frankenstein and Dorian Gray.
Of course, these names were hardly there for show, and the show did include the elements that are so closely tied to the names (such as Dr Frankenstein's famous creation, for example). However, I liked that these characters had other interactions that weren't necessarily accurate to their original stories.
Seasons 1 and 2 were over far too quickly for my taste, and I waited oh-so-impatiently for May 1st, the date when Season 3 was scheduled to air. The series was quite successful so far, but would the new season be able to live up to the audience's expectations? I simply couldn't wait to find out.

I'm gonna be completely honest with you -
I don't think I brought enough Full Restores with me...
All jokes aside, I really don't know if I'm ready for this trimester. Even though this trimester promises to be a fuckfest of glorious standards, I'm not sure I'll be ready for it all to end in three short months. I mean, whenever we talk about graduation it's always met with awkward silences because let's face it - we talk about possibly meeting up even if we're all in different areas, perhaps even different parts of the world, but we all know in our heart of hearts that it's really not going to be that easy. Sure, we might be able to meet up the first few times, but we also know that it's eventually going to be more and more difficult as life gets in the way.
Once this trimester ends... We all need to think about where to go and what to do. Do we move on to study even more, or do we work? What do we want to work as? Where do we want to work? Are we really okay with the fact that we've spent all this time studying, and will move on to work for the rest of our lives? Work is a necessity, but it's also a terrifying thing to face and we're not exactly ready to face it just yet.
After graduation... We'll all go our separate ways, and that might be the end of that. It's depressing, yes, but it's the truth. Some of us might stay here in Singapore, and some of us might end up halfway across the world.
Another thing I worry about is what's going to happen to Panda and I - we've talked about it, come up with plan after plan, assurances and reassurances, and even then we don't actually know what's going to happen until it happens.
It's limbo all over again - this game of waiting, biding our time, waiting for the next turn to come. It's limbo, and we don't know what's awaiting us.
Well, whatever comes... It's going to be step by step, and it's going to have to start with the first day tomorrow. Here goes nothing!
