#100happydays: Day 13
As previously mentioned, today was the first day of the new trimester - which meant that the lot of us trudged to school, and I can't say we were too eager to get back to work so soon.

On the brighter side, it also meant that we managed to catch up with the others - it was nice to just sit around and talk and joke and laugh again.

Hsi Er gave us all souvenirs from Taiwan (she went home over the break) and it was really nice - she gave me this wraparound towel affectionately called "the mushroom" and I was really happy to receive it because I'd loved it when I saw her using it on the Circle trip to Bali and asked her to maybe help me buy one if she had the chance.

I can't wait to start using it - I must admit that hot pink really isn't my colour, but it's a great choice in all honesty given how often I dye my hair bright red. In this way, I won't have to worry about dyeing the mushroom some other colour than it's supposed to be. Thanks Hsi Er!

101 Things I Think About: Day 13
Panda's flying back tomorrow - that's the only thing that's on my mind today. I have q few ideas queued up because I usually don't want to end up typing too much in a post, but for tonight I'll leave this post be.

It's funny how you can look at a flight to somewhere as both "leaving" and "coming back" - he is "leaving" home, but he is also "coming back" to my country. Honestly, I never know what to say because on the one hand, I'm beyond happy that he's coming back - I've missed him so much - but on the other hand I feel sad that he's leaving his home again.

It's not an easy thing to do, to have to keep shuttling back and forth between two places, and it's for this reason that I have so much respect for the international students I know - they must miss their home so much, and yet there is no denying that one tends to develop an attachment of sorts to any place they stay in for long. In this way, the life of an international student is incredibly bittersweet, and you always end up stuck in that process of leaving and returning to, of coming and going.

It's limbo again. Why does that word keep popping up so much lately?
