Mixed or not?

Tish: "You're like a bit Balinese, and Mongolian, and Western."
Me: "So basically you're saying I'm Asian, Asian and Pan-Asian."
Tish: "EXACTLY."

Jo: "You could actually be Japanese, you know. You LOOK Japanese, you LOVE the Japanese culture and anything/everything Japanese, and you seem to prefer the cold weather anyway."
*points to red heat rash marks already forming on my neck*

"Are you Singaporean?"
You have no idea how many times I get asked this.
It's not like I mind, I actually find it quite cute to be asked this cos I'm still quite baffled (and flattered) at how I seem to come off as foreign or mixed.
But I've always answered that yes, I'm Singaporean, because that's the truth.
But when people ask me if I'm pure Chinese or of mixed blood, I don't know how to answer.
I don't actually have an answer.
I don't know my own family tree, mostly cos my dad's side is a complete mystery to me.
Not that I mind at all, I just wonder about it sometimes.

I wish I actually was Japanese. Or half-Japanese. Or whatever.
Yes, it's because I think it would be cool, and also because I'd like to learn more about this culture I love so much. I'd love to actually be a part of this culture.
(I'm not really one of those girls who squeal and go like OMGIWISHIWASJAPANESECOSTHEGIRLSARESOPRETTYANDTHEGUYSARESOHOTTTTTANDIWANNABEKEWLLYKETHEMOMGOMFGOMFGGGGGGGGGG. No. Just no.

(And on a side note, Japan's not always cool. Like in summer, some parts like Tokyo get seriously hot. I could always stay in Hokkaido though, their winters hit -4 degrees and summers 17 degrees. Hee!)
I gotta admit though, hot days really kill me. I don't suffer as much as the other girls in the heat, but the heat rash I get is so embarrassing. Can you imagine trying to look good with red marks all over your neck? Not fun.

Autumn sounds nice.
So does summer in Hokkaido.

Really do wish I could look like her.
She's beautiful.
