EOY + Unpleasant Encounters
So Tish is already in Japan - hopefully she's enjoying herself there.
On another note, Xinyi and I went to EOY today - apparently it's an anime/cosplay event that's pretty big, though it's still smaller than AFA (remember how I said once that AFA was like the cosplay event of the year?).
Also, EOY was held outdoors, which in my opinion was a big, big mistake.
You've got cosplayers who've piled on the makeup, and those costumes aren't exactly suited for tropical weather either.
Isn't it more practical to have an event in an air-conditioned area? This way, the cosplayers can look good and stay in character without having to worry that half their face is melting or their hair is looking flatter with each passing hour.
Sigh.
Despite the heat, Xinyi and I managed to get some pretty good photos:
Some doll display.
Very cool!
Ash Ketchum!
Awesome as always, and a good classic :)
Kakashi!
I loved the detail put into his costume, especially the Icha Icha book.
Ichigo from Bleach, if I'm not wrong.
VERY hot guy - Xinyi and I were grinning like mad after taking the photo.
Minions!
It was awesome - they came as a group with their rocket launchers and all, and even had specialised nametags for themselves.
Some guy in a uniform.
Nothing special really, I just liked his costume.
And introducing...
Kira and Cyanide.
We agreed that we wouldn't be cosplaying, but going as our own themes for the day.
And finally my favourite part of the event:
EXCUSE ME WHILE I SCREAM AND FREAK THE FUCK OUT BECAUSE SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN GUYS. SHINGEKI NO FUCKING KYOJIN.
The cutest Levi-heichou I've ever seen.
And the way he frowned when asked to do his best Levi-heichou impression was so SFBUFVDSBVJDS VKDLNKNVKD.VN
Mikasa!
I WANTED TO BUY ALL THE MERCHANDISE BUT I WAS BROKE OKAY.
Settled for a really cool Recon Corps badge instead!
The wings of freedom.
Got a nice picture of Sasha, Krista, what looks like Eren being Levi-heichou's pet, and Fem!Levi-heichou in cleaning mode.
What was already a great picture got EVEN BETTER when they posed with the tiny heichou.
And my favourite pictures of the day:
Levi-heichou with a very interesting sign...
Oh yes I would.
Oh yes I would indeed.
I wish I could say that the day ended well, but that would be a lie.
All I can do is describe it as a scene.
It had been a good day, she thought to herself while on the way home. She'd gone for a good event with her friend, and had thoroughly enjoyed herself despite the day's heat. Humming to herself, she scrolled through the many photos taken, mentally piecing them together so she could upload them once she reached home since her phone was on the verge of breathing its last for the day.
It wasn't long before she noticed someone hovering near her. Glancing up, she saw the guy who had walked past her not five minutes ago. They had made brief eye contact, but it wasn't as though it had meant anything. He had been a stranger who boarded the train, and she had been curious enough to look up. It was as simple as that.
The problem was, the same guy was now grinning down at her.
It wasn't just about the fact that he was grinning at her despite them obviously not knowing each other. What made her extremely uncomfortable was how his eyes raked over her face and her body, undressing her, looking at her as if he owned her.
It terrified her, but she made herself swallow her rising fear and continue scrolling through the pictures. She told herself that there wasn't anything to be afraid of.
Of course, that was all before he sat next to her. His body brushed against hers, and she fought the urge to shudder - maybe it was an accident, people tend to brush against each other sometimes, maybe maybe maybe - as she shifted away.
He moved closer, staring at her all the while. It was then that she decided she couldn't take it anymore, shooting him an angry glance. He asked for the time, and she replied in as clipped a tone as she could manage.
"10:46."
He nodded, then moved closer to her (how the hell was that even possible?!) and breathed into her ear.
"You're beautiful."
Whatever she'd previously told herself of staying calm, whatever reminders that nothing was going to happen... Everything was forgotten in the wave of fear that rushed over her, as she grabbed her bag and fled somewhere else, somewhere he wouldn't be able to sit next to her.
She should have seen it coming when he sat opposite her and continued staring, with his bag barely hiding his hand that was placed over his crotch. She didn't want to think...
She tried her best - didn't even know what she was so scared of - but she couldn't stop her shivering even after he got off at the next stop.
Cold. So cold.
And the fear was everywhere.
She couldn't understand why she was so scared, why this affected her so much.
Perhaps it was because it reminded her so much of the past, but that was the past - she wasn't supposed to still be affected.
She was supposed to be strong, dammit.
So what had happened to her strength?
