Today has been an amazing day - I went to the Navy @ Vivo exhibition and display, which was something I was genuinely interested in. I love the navy, mostly because I've had such a positive experience working with them during internship, and they haven't spoilt the positive impression I have of them just yet.

I also caught up with ex-colleagues (I somewhat expected them to be there, I mean, this is an event that they HAVE to cover. I just didn't expect to actually RUN into them!) and they helped me too (though I can't - and won't - say more).

I went on a tour of the RSS Endurance and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I also talked to very friendly (and kind of cute, hur hur) people, and made friends somewhat. I can definitely say that Navy @ Vivo has only made my impression of the Singapore Navy more positive, if that's possible!

I've taken loads of pictures, talked to really nice people, collected a souvenir or two from the event and all in all walked away feeling very satisfied. For a few hours, I felt like I was in a comfortable place, somewhere my inner self could look around and give a contented sigh.

In other words, I have had one of the best days in a long while. The coming week promises to be another killer week, without much or any space to take a step back and breathe. This is why today has meant so much to me, as a day that probably would have bored others but was enjoyable for me.

I managed to enjoy a few hours to myself, just walking around and feeling content on the deck on an LST. To me, it felt like I was at another event for internship, and that was a pleasantly familiar feeling.

That's why you're not going to spoil the rest of tonight for me. I'm going to need tonight to rest and enjoy myself a bit, because tomorrow onwards it's back to the battlefield.
