Pain.
It's all she knows today.
Every time she thinks she's escaped from it somehow, it returns with full force
reminding her that hey, it's still there.
It never wants to leave - it enjoys the paranoia that's starting to eat at her nerves.
Every second without the pain is one that she fears the most
because it's a when she thinks she's safe that she's most vulnerable.

And then the pain returns.

All she wants to do now is sleep.
If she sleeps, she enters a place where not even the pain can follow.
She'll be in a place where he'll hold her tight and chase the pain away.
