Performing Words
Tomorrow and Thursday will be when Teatro performs Performing Words, a production that we've all been working so hard for. This will be the first production that our freshies will be acting in, and also the last production that I'll be in because I'm leaving the drama club (as you well know).
Truthfully... I think I'll be fine on Wednesday, but on Thursday night... I honestly don't know if I should bring a pack of tissues. Sigh. I'm not looking forward to leaving. I obviously plan on giving my all to the production, 150% as always, but there's that note of finality that I really wish I could ignore.
I'm so proud of my juniors, especially those in Team Eulogy (Eulogy's the name of the short play we're presenting for Performing Words, so we became Team Eulogy and hey, it stuck) because I've really seen them practice and practice and practice, and I've really seen them grow. They've become so much better from how we all started at the beginning of rehearsals. And every time I watch them go through their lines and movements, I can't help but feel so proud of all of them: Aisha, Lya, Shi Yuan and Suzette.
I don't even know what to say anymore.
I talked to a freshie today, and she actually told me this: "I feel like you're one of the most approachable seniors I can talk to." Sigh, this line both made my night and broke my heart at the same time.
I don't want to have to go.
Well, here's to tomorrow, Teatro. Let's take tonight to rest, drink LOADS of water and stock up on the honey and pi pa gao (that black chinese herb syrup thing), and come tomorrow... We take our place on the stage.
